Job Goal: Plan and implement therapeutic activities to assist special education students as per their IEP.

Employment Terms: 5 Days per Week

7 Hour 30 Minute Day, Exclusive of a (30) Minute Lunch

FLSA Classification: Nonexempt

Evaluation: Annually by Site Principal

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 100 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands and operate equipment; repetitive use of fingers and hands to operate equipment

Occasional Requirements: Ability to administer CPR and First Aid

Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. In collaboration with supervising OTR, plans and manages program to ensure IEP goals are met.
2. Provides training to the appropriate persons to carry over therapy goals in the school setting.
3. Maintains equipment for program.
4. Provides services including: self-help, functional mobility, environmental adaptations/adaptive equipment, positioning, motor functions, sensory processing, provocation/vocational skills.
5. Functions as a team member for MEEGs/IEPs and maintains contact with school, family, physicians, and agencies as needed.
6. In collaboration with supervising OTR, screens, evaluates, and reassesses to develop IEP.
7. Schedules students for evaluation and treatment.
8. To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for remote work will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for remote work will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
9. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
